As it gets harder to move, you end up moving less, which leads to weaker muscles. And as you feel weaker and tighter, it gets harder to move. And so on, and so on.

You end up in a vicious cycle of physical decline.

On top of the physical issues there’s the mental – the complete inability to get started or stick with it. If you could only get motivated. If you only had the willpower.

The fact of the matter is that if moving your body is unpleasant, you won’t want to move it. It’s human nature to avoid doing things that are not enjoyable (like touching a hot stove).

It’s really not your fault. You’re not lazy, you’re just human.
